A Few Albums I have bought

There are some albums which you just love and some that you just hate so much you regret ever buying that CD and vow to never buy their songs anymore... Sometimes I do that but this time I don't regret ever buying two CDs which... If I say I love it it would be exaggerating my perspective so I'm just going to say I like it... a lot...

First is the newest Michael Bublè's CD It's Time. When I was buying this CD and also the other one I contemplate on whether I should swap it for the Gwen Stefani's CD... But I decided to go ahead with this one since I have been wanting to buy one of his CD whether the old one or the new one... But I wanted to buy particularly the new one because it has the single Home which is a poppy type of song but I just thought it was good... So I bought this one... When I went to the counter to pay for both of the CDs the guy at the counter asked me whether I have had his previous album or not... I told him no of course... it is not like I'm going to lie about it or something... yeah right... well... going back to the story... I told him no and in exchange I asked him which one he thinks is the better one and then he told me that he likes both of them the same but then another counter guy came and so the guy that serves me ask him which one he thinks is the better album... and quite the contrary he said he like the second one better which is the new one... so I guess I didn't pick the wrong one heh??? Kidding kidding... When I listened to it I liked it though it was very easy listening... I particularly liked Home, Save the Last Dance for me, and a duet with Nelly Furtado Quando, Quando, Quando... I know I know that the ORIGINAL one is probably better than his version because most from his albums are a redoing of an old favourite songs from the past... But darn it!!! I like it...

And then second is..... MEMORIES ARE MADE OF THIS... THEY HAVE 2 CDs!!! AND 60 SONGS!!!! it has songs such as Memories are Made of this (obviously!!!) sung by Dean Martin... lovely lovely song... Whatever Will Be, Will Be (Que Sera Sera) sung by Doris Day Unchained Melody sung by Jimmy Young then disc two has songs such as Moon River sung by Danny Williams, Save The Last Dance For Me sung by The Drifters (I haven't compared the two between Michael Bublè and this one... there's also Boogie Woogie Bugle Bay sung by The Andrew Sisters, Kimmie!!! This would probably be a very good CD as a pressie but whatever you choose to do with this CD is completely up to you... It is a very nice easy listening but I don't think I know most if not all of the singers but I do know some of the songs... I don't pay particular attentions to details really... like the singers or the composer or the record company etc... So I also like this CD too... It is easy to listen to and best when you're having a headache like what I got today... it's getting better by the way :)

Don't get me wrong....

I know I know... It might seem weird that all of a sudden I suddenly just write reviews on movies and books but honestly if I have to write something of everyday nature I would have no clue as what do I have to do and what should I write... I knowyou guys probably already did reviews on the movies and I'm not that good on actually commenting and making any educational reviews on the movies and books I have read I guess it is just a personal liking and not... *sigh I have to go to the movies more often...

Yet another belated review...

OK... here's the first... I Heart Huckabees.... I love the opening of the movie it is very hilarious yet very disturbing but the comedy is still there.... What I don't like about this movie is just the many philosophical debates that they often comes back to... I love the characters don't get me wrong but I just think that they are a bit too superficial and absurd.... But nonetheless it is charming as a light entertainment... The storyline is a bit too cynical and too quick of a resolution... I don't know... there are just too many things going on in too many places.... I love the poster though... very nicely designed people...

This is the next belated review on HOTEL RWANDA... very very nicely done Terry George... Don Cheadle play beautiful lead and Sophie Okonedo plays the wife very nicely... I cannot stop gluing my eyes to the screen... It is just so emotional... but then again I need to stop it quite a few times because we have guests coming along.... don't get me wrong I really regret not watching this on the big screen I really did... It is coming along very nicely on my most favourite movie of all time...

What I read and what I like and dislike of it...

For the last two weeks (yes TWO weeks!!!) I have read two books...

First... Mao's Last Dancer... A true story of a boy living a struggling life and as faith would have it his teacher taps one of the soldier as they lead two of his classmates out of the classroom on the back and points to him "how about that one?" as hard work and dedication consume his life he began his career into western ballet stardom... This is among those books like 'Chinese Cinderella' very heart wrenching... what I don't particularly like about this book is that it is too debonair... It tells about the upper class society a bit too easily... I just think that maybe because I have been influenced by the idea that sometimes luck doesn't come too easily for some people and they have to work hard for it but in this novel everything seems to be resolved so beautifully for him... although there were some struggle it is just seem too easy... But overall I enjoy the other perspective of being in a very early outer province of China even though poverty dominates the outskirt of large cities of China there are light-hearted events portrayed here... Nonetheless it is beautiful if you are into a Cinderella type of ending...

Second... The Sinner by Tess Gerritsen... A chilling murder mystery as Dr Maura Isles try to solve the murder of two nuns in a locked convent. A convent where outsiders are forbidden and no one is to leave the place... Overall... I think that the plot's a bit shaky on the crime side but nonetheless if you want light crime entertainment it is rather good but what you want to read in this novel is just the drama behind the two leading ladies.... Maura Isles and Jane Rizzoli have a drama of their own... unwanted pregnancies, ex-husband, and an unknown relationship with an FBI... It is really good on the drama side... the relationships are the thing that I want to continue to read another installment of the series... I think the next one after the sinner is 'Body Double' which from what I have read a preview of is kind of interesting... so... see my next review on Tess Gerritsen's novel. (after I buy the novel :P) The cover is actually not the cover that I particularly liked. The cover of the novel that I purchased is much better than this but I cannot find the image...

Movies i just saw and what i hate and love about them

First... Batman begins... a really tragic story of lost, revenge and justice... But lets get on with the review... on my part I think that the cinematography is fantastic I just love it... not particularly overbearing and not too detailed leaving the image of Batman still hidden in the dark (I know I'm not making any sense but please bear with me)... anyways... I don't particularly think that the part of Rachel played by Katie Holmes is a particularly strong character as I have noticed that (no offence Katie) the casting was pretty bad... I think the character is woven into the screenplay very nicely (as I understand that the part is not an actual character that appears in the original comic but rather added into the movie) so overall... I enjoy the fighting and adrenalin pumping scenes... And I like it... no ratings for me... I'm just mostly commenting on it...

Next... Mr and Mrs Smith... I see why they put Brad Pitt into this... I think he fits the character but as for Angelina I think she just lacks the humour man! Anyways... I think it is just not possible for the both of them to be assasins but who cares because it is very nicely scripted. But still I cannot wonder how did these two people end up together again after trying to kill each other??? (makes sense???? NO) anyways... all in all... I think that it is a wonderful light entertainment you should let your kids see it... I'm kidding... It is not that bad to me but that's just one person's opinion...

DATE: 22 JUNE 2005

Hi guys!!

I really don't know what to do now since I have absolutely nothing to do.... But it's actually rather pleasurable to actually be able to actually stay at home these times since it's starting to grow really cold these days... And watching my couz's littlest daughter crawling her way throughout the little cramped home trying to catch to her mother or basically just roam the home really... I remembered when I just came to this house.... she doesn't recognised me and cried all the while until finally she begins to recognise me... I'm really not good with new kids since they dont' know me... but this is actually what always happen anyways even with new people.... And it's really cute how she would always go the upper part of the house... (ok... this is the interior of our house you go in but the level is actually higher than the longer you go into the house... so just think of it as the lounge room at the top of a one step whilst the dining room is just one step below... so basically there is a step dividing the two room) of course for a full grown person or even a child with the ability of walking would easily step (it's not such a high step) but unfortunately for my almost 12 months old couz's daughter she can't do this so what she does is that she would wait at the end of the step and say in a very loud 'heh!' and then one of us would teach her how to get down by herself but... she never learned which is funny really... previously she would try to go down and always end up with her head touching the ground first and then cry furiously (teehee *giggle I shouldn't really laugh really but the thought of it is really cute... :P) But nowadays what she would do is just sit near the step until someone comes :P she's soooo cute!!

It seems that everything that she does is either very funny or very cute... she also loves vegetables and fruits which is very healthy for a baby... and she is actually rather taken into standing up and trying to walk (so she would hold on onto the sofa or the chair in the dining room) and I think the last time she attempted to walk while holding onto the low table in the lounge room she tripped and fell... hehehehe (sorry...) but it's very cute!! And she often stands up holding onto the table and then she would actually bit the edge of the table!!! HAHAHA oh well... I don't think I can actually write down everything that she did... that'll be a bit too much hehehe I would think that it would take me hours to finish... especially the sounds she often makes are not even pronounciable or even count as something but the sounds are sooo CUTE!! And I haven't really decipher anything she says but I think the word 'ECH!' is her word of 'hi!' hehehe it's just so funny really... There are a lot more words she used though....

But one of the funniest would be what she did just a minute ago she was munching on a cucumber, she actually chewed off quite a big piece of it!! (she doesn't have teeth just yet... well... there are 2 teeth protruding on the bottom and two almost on the top she looks like a bunny!!) and so basically all she did with the cucumber is just tasting it and twirl it around in her mouth trying to munch it but can't and then she sneezed! It was soo funny the chunk of cucumber fell off her mouth and it was full of saliva too!! And then she grabbed it again and put it in her mouth!! hehehehe that is just too cute...

Anyways... I better go now I think I may have talked too long on this matter I better go then and good luck to all the exams again... TAKE A LOT OF REST!!! Anyways... that's it

I just want to say don't be pressured and take a lot of rest because you will need it... don't cramp everything on the very last day before the exams or even worse on the last minute BEFORE the exam begins (hehehe good luck doing that!!... seriously that won't work...) well... I don't know why I have been saying these things even though during highschool (gosh.... 'during highschool'... it's like I'm already 60 or somehting...) I always seem to cramp everything at the last minute.... (even during the HSC hush hush ok??) So... I really do think that these exams are gonna be EASY.... so if you have been receiving Cs or Ds or HDs that means the exams are gonna be easy... so don't stress too much...

DATE: 1 JUNE 2005

Yay!!! First of June already... How happy am I gonna be... not... I still got 2 major projects due and I'm planning to finish one off by today... but now it seems utterly impossible to finish this one off... It is soooo frustrating when you have too many ideas and your tutor can't even explain or even input any good ideas into your head... you basically have to do everything by yourself... and I know I have been lazy... but I got other assessments that I got to finish... Anyways... besides me throwing a tantrum I just moved again so no longer I am in my old home but I also got a very very very good internet connection... just one tiny insy winsy bit of problem that I have to encounter when I realised that the thing is a cable and I just can't simply connect it to the comp that I got... (semi-portable comp not laptop) Nyways... Sorry for throwing these big tantrums all the time... but I got no other news besides that.... And to tell you all the truth I haven't been going to the movies since this semester started!!! How lame is that Kimmie???? Anyways... I gotta go finish my project so... Have a great and nice day....
