Before I forgot about it...

I should have done this aaaagggeeesss agooo... I was sooo sidetracked by animes that I forgotten I have to do a 'review' on this movie!! The movie is A Good Woman... I think it is a good movie but wouldn't call it excellent... It has great casts, a good plot and good cinematography... I thought I may have to see this on DVD but I'm glad that I went to the big screen to watch this movie... very emotionally complicated... And loved Helen Hunt as the beautiful seductress Mrs Erlynne... Scarlett Johansson as Mrs Windermere to me is quite... ok... I thought she was alright playing the blonde wife... hehehehe sorry... I know I know... nonetheless a very satisfying storyline... And a lot of social complex... loved the ending... *sigh... almost like a fairy tale ending but a satifying one at that... It lures you to the depth of social gossips and perceptions and makes you understand the emotional complex of particularly the higher aristrocratic socialites... loved the bachelors... or I thought it was... I think it is comprised of two widowers and one bachelor, Lord Darlington... but anyways... it was quirky and funny little tale of love, devotion and comment a lot on the society of the time... I think it was around 1930s but I could be wrong...

I also included a poster that I found from the ehrm... imdb website... and I thought WOW this poster is REALLY GOOD!! I loved it...

This is one of the movie that I thought I would never watch on the big screen...

And the verdict??? I really shouldn't have seen it on the big screen... It wasn't you know... regretful as such but to me it wasn't a particular movie that I would have watched on the big screen... Well... actually in the beginning after I saw the preview I thought it would be a great movie to watch but my determination to go to the movies just to watch this one movie started to subside quite rapidly even though I have received some compliments for the movie by my couzs... so when one of my couz asked me whether I want to watch it... ON A TUESDAY!!! Heck why not... so we went... You know what??? The interesting part wouldn't be the movie itself but rather the numerous experiences we encountered when we went to the mall itself!! B-wood W (just pretend you know where this is...) apparently has a new system out... THEY'RE STARTING TO CHARGE YOU FOR PARKING!!! Although the first 3 hours is free but the thought of actually being charged because previously you aren't is pretty err... surprising... if you haven't notice it by now it is the first time we went to the mall in aaaaaggggeeeessss and so we were kinda surprised to have been held back by a gate and demanding us to take the ticket out of the ticket machine... a surprising twist that is too... AND just when we thought that the surprise would end it turns out that GU (you know what this is... don't pretend you're not...) I know that they have assigned seats now but as it turns out only cinema patrons can use the toilet there... and you know how far back the barricade is right??? Well... let's put it this way... the toilets are usually a mile from the where the barricade is... and you know how they usually have a big space between the entrance of the cinema with the barricade??? Well... after they moved the barricade forward the space becomes well... really small... oh you'll know what I mean when you visit it there... It's no use in having me to explain it to you in detail when I am very retarded in explaining (SEE!?! I can't even bloody explain that I am not intellectually capable enough to explain what the hell I'm TALKING ABOUT!!??!!) Anyways... as it turns out it may be that it was early in the arvo... that explains why they moved it back to the original position once we were out... that was at... 7pm... Anyways... that is probably the whole interesting phenomenon that I have been encountering... which really sidetrack me a lot more than I have expected because I'm supposed to write about FANTASTIC FOUR!!!

Alright alright... I better get on with the job... As you know The Fantastic Four comprises of four people being exposed to some sort of unexplainable space phenomenon... plus one other person that is... Dr Doom... hehehehehuahuahahahahaha *evil laugh... anyways... my couz who watched with me sayz that she liked it because it gets right to the point... I like that part of the movie too but the problem with getting right through the point is that that may be a bit too quickly than expected... look... I am not going to argue or anything but I would like to point out that the stories are too complicated to be just comprised to a mere one and a half hour worth of watch... the editing are too quick and there are just too many flaws in the movement between scenes... *sigh... I was kinda hoping it would be a good one... the casting... well... the casting was alright... I particularly liked Michael Chiklis as The Thing... I think that ehhrmm... Jessica Alba is not really the 'perfect' cast for the part of the Invisible Woman... I thought Ioan Gruffudd as Mr Fantastic was alright... and Chris Evans is really cute but got too much ego as The Torch... I think they should really sack Julian McMahon being Dr Doom... not convincing voice... I thought that when he becomes Dr Doom he might change his voice to a more lower voice to make it sound like he is err evil but it remains the same... I guess that may be just me and my paranoia but I dare say it was an err... satisfactory cast but could have done better... And when you ask me whether I would like to watch the next one??? I'll politely say no thank you...

What have I been up to???

I know I know... I haven't been on the blog for quite a while now... I have a pretty good reason for that... I have been kinda splurging on animes... yes... those series animes... I have just recently discovered that my local movie store has a whole shelf dedicated to animes... but there are not a large range of selection but... just enough to make you want to borrow the next one... but first I have to tell you one that my friend (m-ina, you know who you are... maybe...) lend to me...

About one anime that she found so intriguing but to tell you the truth at first glance it doesn't look like one of those animes that I would particularly be interested by... so what happened??? I still wanted one... ^--^ and what do you think happened when I watched it??? I LOVED IT!! I kept on watching until volume 3 but as time would have it my body was still awake and yet my mind keep telling me that I have to sleep since it is already 3 in the morning... so... I postponed the viewing of the last volume... even now I still haven't watch it... It is called FRUITS BASKET... to tell you the truth (m-ina) I didn't really like the artwork at first glance but when I started watching it I started to umm... appreciate it ^--^ but the story??? The story is sooooo good that you don't want to keep your eyes away from the screen nor get up from your seat to change the DVD... I don't really know if I should tell you the story since it is sort of... complicated in a way and I don't really want to spoil the fun out of the whole thing but the summary of the story itself is not one of those summaries that you would find particularly interesting so I am just going to say that it is one of the cutest anime story I have ever seen...

Next on the list would be Please Twins... I hate to say but it is just such an average anime with a lot of sexual themes... the story goes like this... Maiku Kamishiro's past has always been somewhat of a mystery to him. The only clue he has to who is family might be is an old photograph showing two young children, a boy and a girl, playing in a small pool outside of a blue house. In an attempt to find his family, he moves to this blue house and begins working as a programmer. He's living a comfortable life until the day two very different girls show up at his door, both in possession of the same photograph, and both claiming to be his twin. With no way to prove who is a relative and who is a stranger, Maiku allows both girls to move in with him until they know for sure. (this summary is from animenewsnetwork.com... I am too intellectually retarded to write some hehehe) but I would say that the story is intriguing and makes you want to know more... especially after the 3rd episode of volume 3... the shop hasn't got volume 4 *hicks....

The next is Full Metal Panic... I like Sosuke Sagara he's soooo CUTE!!! I don't particularly know the story as of yet coz I've only just seen the 1st volume... but I guess you can say that this is a particularly guys' type of anime with a lot of machines and stuff... hehehe... not really good on describing the anime am I??? Anyways... when I first saw the first EPISODE my first impression was I don't like it but then the story starts to unravel it started to get interesting... but I still say that this would probably appeals more to the guys with a medium level of violence incorporated with it...

Next is... Peace Maker... and the story goes... Tetsunosuke Ichimura wants to get revenge far his father being killed by a Chisouu assasin and in order to avenge his father Tetsunosuke tries to join the Shinsengumis... Tetsunosuke is not what you can call a fighter type with his small stature but he is determined to avenge his father and willing to go head to head with one of the most experienced Shingumi, Souji Okita... of course... he lost... but his determination and will is recognised and so he joined the Shinsengumis with his big brother who already has been accepted, Tatsunosuke... I have to say too that this anime would probably be most appealing to guys too... since there are a lot of blood gushing out of cut bodies... or as the more appropriate terminology... medium level violence...

Therefore the next would be... D.N.Angel... Daisuke Niwa is your average boy... that is until his 14th birthday... the Niwa family has a 'cursed' gene which can only be in the male side of the family... now whenever Daisuke's enamoured he becomes the legendary phantom thief, Dark Mousy... (I would have no idea why they would put Mousy as a last name... weird...) and yes his mom is much aware of this and thus for reasons unknown to Daisuke he has to turn to Dark and steal valuable artworks to seal the curse on the artworks... And as the story unfolds we are also told of Dark's other self, Krad and also that one of his classmate has the same ability as Daisuke... and turn into Krad... You might ask why I liked this anime but the guys are sooo CUTE!!! especially Dark and Krad... cute cute cute... ooo just too cute... the story is also well prepared and you want to know more of why and how and all those stuff... (very detailed aren't I???)

The next one would be... (drum roll please...) INUYASHA!!! *sigh... one of the best story ever written I can say... but I won't bother to write the story instead I will let animenewsnetwork.com to explain it to you since I am just encapsulated towards the story I might tell you about the whole series that I have watched... Higurashi Kagome, after being pulled down a well by a demon, finds herself in Feudal Japan, where she learns that a powerful jewel has been reborn inside her body. After the jewel shatters in an attempt to retrieve it from one of the many demons who was after its power, Kagome must join forces with the half-demon Inu Yasha (also after the jewel's power) to track down the shards of the jewel before its power falls into the wrong hands... That is the plot summary... BUT I LOVE THIS ANIME!!! *tears in eyes... *hicks... if only they have the whole collection... the store only has it until the 7th volume which to my dismay is not finish yet... and I also predicted this too by the way... when I thought that the whole thing would finish by then but it turns out to be the opposite... *hicks... And I dare say that the maker of this anime is probably the same one who did one of my fav anime of all time Ranma 1/2... *sigh... NEED 8TH VOLUME DARN IT!!! *sigh *sigh *sigh

That is the whole animes that I have watched and regretfully have to stop because they don't have the whole series huueeee.... (crying eyes out) *hicks *hicks *hicks.... anyways... this is actually my second attempt at finishing the review because being as silly as I am I pressed things I should not pressed and suddenly discovered myself with a blank piece of blog but fortunately Blogger has a new Recover Post button which only goes up to the Please Twins section but it helps quite a lot (thanks Blogger's IT people!!! hehehehe)

JUST FINISHED HARRY POTTER!!!

Yay!! After pruchasing it on Sunday afternoon I still didn't read it even though I have been dreading for it since it came out... not until night time that is... The factor that contributed to this is probably the amount of DVDs I hired whilst on the weekend and staying at my other couz's place to avoid the kiddies and also *clearing throat... to play PS2 which I hate to admit but Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater ROCKS!!! Not only did I beat the boss that my couz can't beat but I also got the uniform yay!!! ehhrrmmm... besides that... I was just saying that Harry Potter is a must fiction that all people should read... BECAUSE I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE!!! Please, please oh please hurry up with the next one J.K. Rowling... *sigh... I can't be the only one I know that probably wants to know what's going on... but the intriguing thing always with the Harry Potter series is that Rowling really feeds our curiosity to the extent of us yearning for that next book everytime we finished the former... *sigh... and I know too that the whole process of producing such great result is through meticulous and thorough writings... and we can't fasten the speed to produce such finer results... *sigh all in all the book is good you should read it... don't get me wrong I am not being pessimistic to the book... I am merely saying that you have to read it... or you will never get over your curiousity... ever!!!

I won't tell you what happened or how things happened in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince if you haven't read it but what I know is that once you finish the book you want to expect more of J.K. Rowling... of course... no pressure...

i never knew i had too many pictures...

I have just realised quite accidentally that I have so many pictures that I don't even know I have taken... There were so many... I thought I just put this in here for errmmm... fun *big grin ^-^...

Here goes... the first one right here is a picture I took when they had this hail storm... apparently it went off when we were in the shops so we didn't get to witness the pouring of huge chunks of ice agains the asphalt... nonetheless this picture is taken right behind our backyard at the old home... quite tragic really... dark, cold and so industrially concrete...

Which brings me to the second picture on the right... The moon... so eerie and yet so magestic... I took this with... yes my phone's camera and turns out quite ok... This is right outside my old home... we used to be able to see the moon when it was fully surrounded by the night clouds engulfing the moon... But I hate to say this but this photo is not quite as mesmerising as the real life image... I was absolutely breath taken I cannot find any other place where the moon is that beautiful...

And believe it or not the third picture is actually taken where the moon was... note that the first image of the moon was not taken on the same day... but I thought that the placing is just rightly at the centre of the two buildings it is just so... scary... This is actually taken at my old home too... and because my building is adjoining the next one so the building is sort of like a mirror image of the one next to it and so it forms this huge gap between the two where the roofs meet... and quite truthfully I took dozens with my phone's camera that my couz thought I was insane although she actually took some herself... with her phone that is... but nonetheless I like the image... quite unexpected really...

This fourth one... *sigh came from my old room at the old home... They have a huge wall that covered the room and fortunately it was on my side of the room (remember... sharing a room with my couz...) and so... I sort of not that long ago decorated my wall with... these... posters, postcards... and some odds and ends... thought it was good but then have to tear it down and move on... *sigh... things happen...

Anyone knows where this is??? Yes... that's right the old place... hehehe never in a million years I would have considered the place called school would be such a distant memory all of a sudden... *sigh so far... so far... Anyways... haven't seen much of the old place and have no idea whatsoever what is happening at the place and sure enough I won't take another step into it unless it is ABSOLUTELY necessary to do so... (maybe I'm over exaggerating but we shall see...) I pass it every so often by car to get to my other couz's place... and always curse at it for some reason... dunno what though...

I don't know what makes me put this particular picture into the blog but I thought a bit of embarassment to myself wont hurt... and yes I am to admit that I am a bit addictive on the competitive side... when we still have the shop apparently my couz was offered to set up a err... you know that machine that you put money into and then try to grab a doll??? I have no idea what it is called and so... my couz and I had a bit of er... competition... it turned out to be quite profitable for the owner of the machine where I constantly with my couz have to put money into the machine and see who got it... and the result scarily enough is that those are the dolls that I captured using numerous amounts of coins and dedications and bountiful abilities to capture the dolls... god I'm such a pathetic gambler... but when we get to the casino I have no interest whatsoever to do more than the free $10 in the card... pathetic... just so you know I am beyond that addiction periods...

Being as you know more and more selfish... for god knows what... This is the image I have copied and assuringly drawn without the help of tracing papers or high-powered lamps... This is probably the next to almost perfect copying of an image from a comic book that I have ever done in the course of my life... and quite truthfully the last time I ever attempted to copy such images to be drawn I was at my most innocent years and apparently drawing Sailor Moon becomes my most important priority when I was little and little did I know that all my drawings sucked... big time... *sigh... where have the years gone... gosh... I know I know... I boast too much... but this is the journey (*chuckle journey...) that I have to go through... I doubt if I could ever draw the same way again... I was engulfed at the comic so much coz I loved the story as well as the drawing... I doubt that I would ever be able to be a cartoonist but can always keep my hopes up can't I???

And with all of that... This is from a book that I grabbed off a bookstore and apprently it shows... to me... miniscule images of Japanese printing art... quite fascinating really... and nonetheless full of the unfathomable world of Japanese Printings... there wasn't much info in it more of images and the book can basically be put at the palm of your hand... quite good... just... small...

And with all of that talking and rambling and more constant yapping of my world... I guess you know me better than this... but fascinating... even to myself to be able to admit these of me... Anyways... I am just writing this out of sheer boredom and I admit I have to go back to my Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince quite soon... I just thought I might check out the internet for a bit and muck around a bit more... well... it turns out to be a good one hour before I get off this computer... or so I thought... anyways... rather than me rambling on about everything that I have to do in my life... I better be off and join the reading club of the world by finishing off one of the greatest fantasy tales... to me anyways... I'll be off now and a good day to you too...

more moRE MORE movie reviews!!!

hi hi to y'all!! hehehe just trying that... Anyways... since I have nothing to do and practically want to do anything I have just started watching DVDs on the weekend and you might be wondering how the heck I was able to watch DVDs when there are kids surrounding me... or you might not... but whichever thinking you might assign your mind to that's a secret I am going to keep for myself... ^_^ pretty suspicious heh?!? Anyways... first up...

Napoleon Dynamite... I think this is a shitty movie that is not worth watching especially on the big screen but I have to say that the writers have pretty good intelligent minds... coz for all of you who have watched this movie you may consider this movie to be... uummm... unique and thus why it won numerous awards on MTV (or maybe it was because of MTV production but anyways...) It is like a romantic comedy with a unique twist to it... But however I watched the movie I have to say that it annoys me to watch the movie... the thing is if you are indeed going to watch it you might brace yourselves for Napoleon dancing to Jamiroquai's 'Canned Heat'... I have to say that he was really good... but it is probably the only thing that does not annoy me throughout the whole movie and the script was pretty good but it just annoys me... I know I know that they have to act that way in order to perform the script but still.... annoys me... All in all it was a pretty good dry laugh I keep getting but good act by Jon Heder (I cannot believe he already has a wife!!! and he is not that bad looking either if you make him a bit more neat and tidy... ok... compare the Jon Heder in the movie and the Jon Heder from the MTV Awards night...)
<<--This is Jon Heder by the way...

And the second movie would be... Cellular... casts include... Kim Basinger and Chris Evans they are probably the only two famous stars in the whole movie... I hate to say this but... really bad casting... but it was ok.. no offence but Kim Basinger doesn't... what's the word??? stir my emotions when I watched this movie same thing for Chris Evans... but he actually got a little bit better by the end of the movie... so here is the plot Kim Basinger's character is kidnapped by people whom she has no connections with but apparently her husband knows them and the whole family is kidnapped (just watch the movie... if you want to...) what happened is Kim's character, Jessica, is being put into an isolated place and she doesn't know where it is... apparently there is a phone in the room but unfortunately smashed to bits by the bad guys... BUT the phone is not actually dead and it is still connected but unfortunately there is no number pads or anything just the receiver still a bit intact... so Jessica, being a science teacher (smart arse), join the wires together (sort of like when you see people in the movie trying to steal a car) and finally it actually connected to Chris Evans' character, Ryan's mobile. And so a massive hunt for Jessica and her family before the time runs out follows where the police won't take the case so seriously err... not really but more of Ryan is forced to go up the staircase but with each level he is starting to lose the connection and so he hunts for Jessica himself... but what is the secret hidden by Jessica's husband to have put their family's life in danger??? That is what you have to find out... I have to say that it is a pretty thrilling adventure but I hate to say that the casts are not as well thought of as the script... well... I guess the script was ok not GREAT great but just very well done... the thing that you should watch out for in this movie (like any other movies) is the guy who you first saw on the beach with Ryan as this Asian guy who offers him to get his err... image drawn... you know... sort of like the person who draw you by hand... and so... in nearly the end of the movie he shows up again... teehee... he is funny... I think his name is Dat Phan... (don't mistaken him as my relative nooooo connection whatsoever he's from Vietnam) and apparently there is this reality show every week in the middle of the night at god-knows-what-time that is about comedians and sort of like Survivor type of thing but this is on comedians and he is apparently one of the contestant... so... yeah... I know I know... I'm a TV maniac... Anyways... you watch this I think mostly for the script...

The last movie and quickly become on my 'most favourite movie of all time' list... Million Dollar Baby... such a good script, great casts, great cinematography just... great everything... Gosh... Hillary Swank... she's so good... her character Maggie Fitzgerald is an amateur female boxer who dreams to be in the boxing arena for big... she wants Clint Eastwood's character, Frankie Dunn, to be her trainer... through much persuasion finally Frankie gives in... he becomes her trainer and she becomes a boxer... the story relies mostly on the voiceover of Morgan Freeman's character, Scraps, a retired old boxer who lives in the boxing training gym and lives as the cleaner for Frankie... This is the movie of determination, dreams, hopes, beliefs, sufferings, and final decisions... there are a lot of emotions being put in thought for this movie... not a disappointment at all... and for those of you who thinks that Morgan Freeman getting the Best Supporting Actor, Hillary Swank getting the Best Actress and Clint Eastwood getting the Best Director Oscars are an undermined selection you are completely wrong... there is nothing unsatisfying about this movie... this is a particularly beautifully scripted powerful storytelling involved in this movie... I loved it... ^-^

This time... AN ANIME REVIEW!!!

This review is a review about one of the most cinematic anime movies I have ever seen... STEAM BOY... an anime that is conceived and directed by the legendary Katsuhiro Otomo... director of the most famous and maybe the most loved Akira. I have never seen Akira personally but is planning to... soon... but for the moment being Steam Boy can be said to be an anime that is pleasing to the eyes... Beautiful directions and combinations between 2D and 3D images... script-wise I have to say it was very good and rather clever for that matter but I dare say what you want to see out of this anime is the many action pumping scenes that you just can't get your eyes out of... But I suppose I have to give you a summary of what it is...

Steam Boy is set during the late 19th century... Dr Steam and his son pursue a career in the scientific industry and as the century states steam is the main power source that they have discovered during the time... Dr Steam and his son have discovered a powerful steam powersource that is the most powerful in the world... but as any scientific discovery can be mysterious and dangerous and yet powerful... too powerful... Dr Steam has sent a package to his grandson, Ray Steam, containing a mysterious black ball... But as the package arrived so too the evil people from the O'Hara foundation claiming that the black ball is their property... This is a tale of moral integrity and moral values where science is often referred to as power and bringing happiness to many people who need it. But are these the drive to pursue weapons for destructions? Is it necessary for us to have power so we can rescue ourselves from the enemy? But what enemy? Humanity? Our greatest fear comes from our ally... each other...

This movie is a movie with a lot of moral questions and issues. A powerful tale of beliefs and science... Something that you should watch out for is the ingenious details to the quirky gadgets they invented in the movie... it looks so unreal and unbelievable but they seem to work as well in real life!! (err... maybe...) A movie that deserves a watch for... That is it for me watch out for the next review ^-^

A Trip to the Land Once Called No No...

Really cheesy heading but I would like to point out that the land of no no is actually the StarCity casino... I FINALLY WENT!!! After all those things that I have to do... Like turning 18 *sigh... I would like to say a personal thank you to the people at Izakaya Musashi for turning up a very VERY good dishes at the ummm... 'party' their dishes are immaculately prepared and served... thank you... I particularly liked their desserts and I think I should try Sam's parfait some day... They look really nice... And I'm sorry if you are expecting any type of pictures because I can say that my camera is being taken back to Indo because of tax reasons... I know I know... that sounds too peculiar so what happen is I purchased a camera and one of my couz is going back to Indo and this is probably the perfect timing because I can claim the GST back from the purchase and so what happened is that I didn't have time to take the photos off the camera because he is going the next day and so *sigh* I have to wait probably for it to arrive with my couz in like... oh I dunno... a couple of weeks *sigh *sigh *sigh.... It wasn't a lot anyways... there wasn't a lot of pics coz the camera stopped working because it needed new batteries!!! *sigh I didn't have the chance to take beautiful pics of the Sydney Darling Harbour... very disappointing... it was really beautiful night and all I can do is permanently embedded the images into my mind... unfortunately I have a very short memory span... so I can barely remember it... hehehehe me and my brain... So this is what happened during the night...

First we went to the restaurant and then I was planning to take a tram to StarCity but the others kinda objected because it costs quite a bit of money and so we went walking to StarCity and it was BEAUTIFUL!!! It was such a beautiful night there was barely any clouds in the sky... so we went walking walking and walking under the starry dome of the night crossing every beautiful images you can ever imagine... and so we went to StarCity... Unfortunately Noush didn't have any ID to get in and because we persuaded her to try and yet she still says no and because we have been standing very awkwardly for a long time looking like a group of underage with fake IDs discussing something... :P we went in... without Noush... She insisted to stay outside... so she did and we went in... we signed up for a new card (Now I got a card for StarCity YAY!!! But I'll probably get coupon craps from the casino now...) and we got $10 for free (inside the card of course) and so we spent I think all of our $10 and I think Marina and Joycie didn't quite win that much money and I didn't particularly win some either but the big surprise is probably Sam... she got $16!!! And to our standard that is pretty big money!!! What happened is we started using the right row of poker machines but then all of us moved to the left ones but Sammie still went for the right one and now she calls her poker machine her lucky one!!! But we didn't end up sitting there for too long and so we went back to Noush and started looking around the casino for any cafes but they closed and fortunately they have a drinking machine that allows you to take 3 drinks for free... everyone went to get some mocha coffee... I wanted one too but it was too warm for me so I went for Sunkist... Darn it!!! I wish I could've gotten that mocha coffee... apparently they are very nice... And because Noush's parents are picking her up we went all the way round to get to her parents... and Noush... being as persuasive as she is... insisted that we should get a lift from her... and as majority counts we were too tired to walk ourselves back to Central (THANKS NOUSH!!! ^-^ and NOUSH'S PARENTS TOO!!!) So we got a lift back and that is that....

So that is our adventure for the day err.... night... :P And it was the first time probably EVER that I have gone home at about 11.30 PM... I know I know... that is just pathetic... I'll just try harder next time.... :P

Another hired DVD...

OK.... this is the 'hired DVD' part... yesterday I borrowed The House of Flying Daggers a cinematic delight to the eyes presented by Zhang Yimou... I love the cinematography and directions and the casting as well... This movie is sort of an Romeo and Juliet type of movie and yet the story itself bares something that is totally different and unique and to my surprise probably the first movie that I have seen some sort of sex scene or the way my cousin put it... sex scheme... hehehe... not funny at all... anyways... All in all a very beautiful movie yet a bit disappointed with the storyline but a very satifying casts... Andy Lau casts as a captain of the government police force as well as Takeshi Kaneshiro and Ziyi Zhang (I always liked the Chinese way of reading her name, Zhang Ziyi) as the beautiful blind maiden from the infamous House of Flying Daggers... This is how the story goes... Andy Lau's character named Leo and Takeshi Kaneshiro's character named Jin are both captains of the government police force... They have been pursuing any leads that can take them to the infamous group of the Flying Daggers... This group is sort of like the Robin Hood group of the East where they steal from the rich and give them to the poor unfortunately nothing in the movie shows how they do this (as in any pictures or scenes showing how they operate bla bla bla... I'm a bit fuzzy on some things that are not hinted or just claims I like to stick to the when you claim it you have to back it up rule) they're just 'claims' said in the beginning of the movie so basically written words in the beginning of the movie... So what happened is both Jin and Leo received a rumour that the said blind daughter of the former leader of the Flying Daggers is working at a local brothel (heck I dunno what you're supposed to call it) so Jin went undercover and they trapped the daughter bla bla bla... Mei got captured bla bla bla tortured bla bla bla and then rescued by the 'undercover' Jin, but Mei, the blind daughter, still didn't know that Jin is actually a government official so she still trusts him because she is blind and he wants to get her to the house of the Flying Daggers so they went on a journey to go North and find the group they fall in love la di da di da... the story goes on... there are some unknown and yet you sort of expect twist in the end but it takes soooo long to get to the end that I was just dying when my DVD went 1:00:00 and still couting until 1:30:00 and it's still counting!!! Anyways... it was all good though please don't get rather taken aback because of my comment... the movie has one of the most beautiful cinematic experience you can ever imagine... So... it is the movie that you either love or not and two thumbs up or one thumbs up I don't think that you would say no thumbs up for this movie though... anyways... watch it when you get the chance to...

PS. Take a better look at Takeshi Kaneshiro... he's so cute!!! Great mandarin too...

To ease the boredom...

So... just a few movies I have watched and what I thought about it...

Actually... Just one really... :P The most recent one that I have watched is War of the Worlds... As many knows Stephen Spielberg is most reknown for his beautiful directions on sci-fi movies (well... maybe The Terminal was an exception haven't seen it though) but I was rather disappointed with his recent movie War of the World... no offence Steve but the directions are still at your best just the story and the casting is a bit too unoriginal and boring... Remind yourself again and again that Tom Cruise is a bad publicity... He is too scary for my liking the one ability that I found out he posesses is the ability to still smile when he's mad and yet you still fear for your life (kinda like the water squirting incident... I think it was some British comedy joke or something daring someone to do jokes to celebrities... not really that sure... anyways... I feel kinda bad for the guy who squirted Tom with water... geez... how can anyone not be intimidated by the way Tom looks??!!) and then there's Dakota Fanning... great as Rachel but Rachel is annoying.... she screams her lungs out ALL throughout the movie... and Justin Chatwin as Robbie?? How can he not make you think that he is not a teenager??? Well... I guess he is ok... not that bad as in acting but look-wise... I have to see a better pic of him than that.... Anyways... story-wise... REALLY BAD... to tell you the truth as well... the whole thing doesn't seem to add up properly... There may be aliens and other things happening but the ending is just bloody disappointing!!! Geez... just do something to the script that may be sad but fulfilling!! Note to writers... don't worry about what the audience feel emotionally but focus on the writing god dang it!! Make the whole script some sense!! Don't make such an impossible ending!! *whoops* anyways... if you haven't seen it you should... to criticise it... Anyways... this is the movie where you either hate or love hhmmm... maybe more of hate really... And for that note too... remember that always book your seats beforehand... my seats were ok but the thing is I sat on the very wrong seat (seat no 13!!! Imagine that!!!) and what happen is the guy sitting to the left of me is probably the most annoying person I have to sit next to... just imagine him to be the male version of Bianca... he keeps saying hello and open his big mouth throughout the movie I know it's barely audible to me... but annoying. And for the record GU??!! don't fricking make us do the fricking booking online and when we buy the ticket when we get there ask us to fricking pick the seat and darn it!! let us see the screen!!! So we can fricking see where the hell we want to sit!!! Dammit!!!! Sorry *blush* I'm just so disappointed with the recent changes from 'the first one to get the best seat is not the rotten egg!!!' to 'book you seats before you even fricking think of watching the movie!!!' Anyways... Let this not be an intimidating opinion of 'why you shouldn't go the movies' but an err.... motivation to go... to... the... err... movies... ... ... anyways... enjoy your day *big grin*
