This time... AN ANIME REVIEW!!!

This review is a review about one of the most cinematic anime movies I have ever seen... STEAM BOY... an anime that is conceived and directed by the legendary Katsuhiro Otomo... director of the most famous and maybe the most loved Akira. I have never seen Akira personally but is planning to... soon... but for the moment being Steam Boy can be said to be an anime that is pleasing to the eyes... Beautiful directions and combinations between 2D and 3D images... script-wise I have to say it was very good and rather clever for that matter but I dare say what you want to see out of this anime is the many action pumping scenes that you just can't get your eyes out of... But I suppose I have to give you a summary of what it is...

Steam Boy is set during the late 19th century... Dr Steam and his son pursue a career in the scientific industry and as the century states steam is the main power source that they have discovered during the time... Dr Steam and his son have discovered a powerful steam powersource that is the most powerful in the world... but as any scientific discovery can be mysterious and dangerous and yet powerful... too powerful... Dr Steam has sent a package to his grandson, Ray Steam, containing a mysterious black ball... But as the package arrived so too the evil people from the O'Hara foundation claiming that the black ball is their property... This is a tale of moral integrity and moral values where science is often referred to as power and bringing happiness to many people who need it. But are these the drive to pursue weapons for destructions? Is it necessary for us to have power so we can rescue ourselves from the enemy? But what enemy? Humanity? Our greatest fear comes from our ally... each other...

This movie is a movie with a lot of moral questions and issues. A powerful tale of beliefs and science... Something that you should watch out for is the ingenious details to the quirky gadgets they invented in the movie... it looks so unreal and unbelievable but they seem to work as well in real life!! (err... maybe...) A movie that deserves a watch for... That is it for me watch out for the next review ^-^
